Park Village Grand Re-Opening
RiverHills Bank proudly supports another Affordable Housing Project. Through partnership with Fairfield Homes, RiverHills Bank was able to provide a $5,000,000 Construction Loan, $100,000 Perm Loan, and as a Member Bank of FHLB $1,000,000 in AHP Grant Funds were awarded to the project.
Millie Hurtt, VP, Development was honored to represent RiverHills Bank at the Grand Re-Opening of the 80 unit Senior Affordable Housing project called Park Village located in Shelby, OH. This significant project, which addresses critical housing needs for seniors, was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community leaders, funding partners, and city officials, including Shelby Mayor Steve Schag. Mayor Schag praised the rehabilitation, management, and maintenance of Park Village, acknowledging the project’s vital role in supporting the city’s senior residents. In addition, Jennifer Walters, President and CEO of Fairfield Homes, Inc. and Gorsuch Construction, Inc., emphasized the collaborative effort required to bring the project to completion, stating, “A project of this magnitude doesn’t happen easily or without a lot of partnerships. I thank all of our partners that have brought this community to fruition.”
Park Village Phase I is a renovation of 80 units of Rural Development senior housing in Shelby, OH, preserving the rental assistance for 48 units. This 100% affordable project consists of 1-BR (72) and 2-BR (8) units in 20 single-story buildings. The buildings are arranged in five quads with courtyards in the center. The renovation invests over $5,000,000 in the improvement and repair both to the units and buildings for residents. Unit improvements include the installation of new doors, windows, flooring, and kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. As part of the effort to reduce energy costs and meet Enterprise Green certification, Energy Star appliances along with new water heaters and energy efficient heat pump heating and cooling system installed for each unit. Park Village residents enjoy a designated community building which houses a laundry facility, arts & craft area, a lounge area, restrooms, meeting room, activity room, fitness room, management office, management storage space, and a community kitchen. In addition to community space, each unit provides residents with private patios in the rear of their apartment to enjoy the courtyard green space. The site is located within a short walk of a variety of community services and in proximity to opportunities for shopping, recreation, and entertainment. Health and safety services are within 1.9 miles of the site while it also provides convenient access to major highways.
